Dear International and Sister Cities Friends:

On behalf of Florida Studio Theatre, we are pleased to announce the International Winners of the 2014 Young Playwrights Festival from Israel, Scotland, and Russia.

Below is a listing of the International Winning and Honorable Mention playwrights, the titles of their plays and their educators for the 2014 Young Playwrights Festival.

The Festival will be held on Saturday, May 10th at Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, Florida.

The plays in the Winning UNDER SIX and SEVEN UP Categories will be presented at Florida Studio Theatre by professional actors. The playwrights and their guests are invited to attend a performance of their play and an award ceremony where they will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a medal.
Playwrights in the Honorable Mention Category will receive a Certificate of Recognition and a Medal that will be sent after May 10th.

Winning is an outstanding accomplishment; these playwrights were chosen competitively from over 3,000 international student entries.

Formal letters will be sent in care of the contacts from each city with specific information regarding the festival. Winning Playwrights, educators, and families are encouraged to attend the Festival and the Sister Cities Association will facilitate all travel and housing arrangements for Dunfermline, Tel Mond and Vladimir.

On behalf of Richard Hopkins, Artistic Director, Kate Alexander, Associate Director, Beth Duda, Director of Education, myself and all of us at Florida Studio Theatre, heartfelt congratulations.

Thank you to all who participated in making this a fantastic year for the Young Playwrights Festival and in contributing to the continued effort to build understanding and creative growth between all of our diverse cultures.
