Sarasota Film Festival Film April 19, 2012

Jane Thompson, co-chair of the very successful One World Gala, sent the following to advise SSCA members and friends of a Sarasota Film Festival film that has a special tie to Sarasota’s Roskamp Institute groundbreaking research.  You may want to put this showing on your calendar – 7:30pm on April 19 at the Sarasota Opera House.  This is timely, as Robert Roskamp was the first honoree at our inaugural One World Gala just about a year ago.

Hi friends, 

On April 19th at the Sarasota Opera House at 7:30PM there will be a screening of the film,  Sarasota Film Festival film .  

This is the story of Kevin Turner, an NFL player who developed ALS, a devastating disease…that may have been caused by his participation in a game that he loved.

What you may or may not know is that there is groundbreaking brain research going on right here in Sarasota at the Roskamp Institute.  Dr. Fiona Crawford has received funding from both NIH and the Department of Defense.  She and her team are researching traumatic brain injury, and she will be speaking and answering your questions after the film.
