Sister Cities International is set to host the 2014 U.S. China Sister Cities Conference in March in Washington, D.C! This exciting Conference will connect government officials, business leaders, and citizen diplomats from the U.S. and China to examine innovative and exciting opportunities in the U.S.-China network and explore new sister city partnerships. The Conference will offer informative educational sessions from industry thought leaders and numerous forums in which attendees can socialize and network.
When: Wednesday, March 26, 2014 - Friday, March 28, 2014 Where: Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, D.C. 20004 With over 200 sister city relationships, U.S.-China partnerships are the fastest growing in the sister cities network. The Conference is an outcome of Sister Cities International's 2012 Memorandum of Understanding signing with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Nominate YOUR program for the 2014 U.S.-China Sister Cities Awards. The Awards highlight your U.S.-China sister city relationship's achievements and brings international recognition to your community's contributions to building people-to-people ties between the two countries. U.S. and Chinese cities with a formally recognized sister city partnership can apply for the Awards.Winners will be recognized at the 2014 U.S. China Sister Cities Conference. U.S.-China sister city programs can be nominated in the following categories:

Sister cities youth are encouraged to submit artwork, essays, and poems inspired by what this years theme: "Connect globally. Thrive locally." means to them!
Sister city relationships foster partnerships within the community and between international cities, counties, and states in order to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time. In 2012 Sister Cities International launched its new tag line: Connect globally. Thrive locally. Through 2D media, essays or poetry, youth can illustrate how global connectivity allows an individual or community to thrive locally. How has this connectivity impacted youth for the better?
