A Sister City for just 5 years, Merida has made social & economic exchanges with Sarasota. Like Sarasota, Merida is a cultural center, featuring multiple museums, art galleries, and the Yucatan Symphony Orchestra! A large, modern city with traditional influences from the local Mayan culture, it boasts a population of almost One Million. "A Mexican city of its own Style"!
With over 20 of Sarasota Sister City Members on tour this month, the Merida Tour will serve to enrich our partnership with Merida!
