Upcoming Webinar:
Doing Business in Mexico

When: Wednesday, October 23, 2:00 p.m. EDT
Speaker: Colleen Fisher, U.S. Department of Commerce NAFTA expert

Proximity to the United States, combined with the successful North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), has created an open and welcoming market for U.S. products and services in Mexico. Mexico is the third largest trading partner of the United States, and represents the second largest export market of U.S. products and services. Since its enactment in 1994, the NAFTA has bolstered the strong manufacturing industries on both sides of the border, facilitating an active exchange in parts and components along supply chains for various sectors.  Additionally, the U.S. and Mexican governments are promoting their commercial relationship like never before with the launch of the U.S.-Mexico High Level Economic Dialogue.

Join this webinar to learn more about the business opportunities that your U.S.-Mexico sister city relationship can explore as well as the policy initiatives that are driving the bi-lateral relationship into the 21st Century.

2014 Young Artists and Authors Showcase

Open to all Sister Cities International youth members!
Sister cities youth are encouraged to submit artwork, essays, and poems inspired by what this years theme: "Connect globally. Thrive locally." means to them!
Sister city relationships foster partnerships within the community and between international cities, counties, and states in order to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time. In 2012 Sister Cities International launched its new tag line: Connect globally. Thrive locally. Through 2D media, essays or poetry,  youth can illustrate how global connectivity allows an individual or community to thrive locally. How has this connectivity impacted youth for the better?

The deadline for sending in entries is May 1, 2014. For details, visit: http://www.sister-cities.org/young-artists-and-authors-showcase
